Lembas Award
In most of our official activities and in our contests, all official members of the club who participate have the opportunity to gain Silmarils! In Tolkien's world, the Silmarils were three great jewels made by the Elf Fëanor. They were very special as the light of the Two Trees of Valinor (which were destroyed later) was locked inside them. The Silmarils were stolen by the evil Melkor, and many wars between him and the Elves followed.
At the end of each year, the HOLTS member who has gained the most Silmarils receives the Lembas Award.
