Term Has Started
I’m so excited for this term! It’s my first term as a Student Teacher. I’ve got almost 100 students in my Norse Mythology class already, and I won’t close sign-ups until the end of this month.
Some students have already submitted their homework assignments and even extra credit assignments. So excited to grade them! However, if any of my students see this (and I do hope so) – please remember to put your assignments in the body of the e-mail and not as an attachment.
I’ve been quite busy in RL for a week now, but I’m feeling curiously organized despite all I have to do. I even have time to finish the lessons and assignments for this class (luckily)! I’ll also get to grading assignments during this weekend. Maybe I’ll even start working on my own homework assignments…
Class Approved!
I am happy to announce that my class Norse Mythology has been approved for the fall term! (Which means now I have to hurry up and finish the classes…) The forum will be finished shortly, and I want to make you aware of that the lessons and assignments might change slightly before term starts. They will however be finished on September 1st!
Also, this will be a very brief and not in-depth look at Norse Mythology. I decided to only make it a one-term class and there’s just so many things that won’t be able to fit into the class for now. But I promise to make the class interesting nontheless!
Applied for a Class
I’ve thought about it for quite some time: It would be fun to try teaching a class. And I love mythology. The result? Yesterday I applied for student teaching a class called Norse Mythology. We’ve had Roman Mythology, Greek Mythology, and some other random mythologies from around the world, but I still haven’t seen anyone teaching about the highly interesting myths from the Nordic countries where I come from.
You can find the link to the class from this website (just go to “Classrooms” in the right hand menu). It’s still not totally finished (unfortunately), but you will get a fairly good view on what the class will look like. It will be a one term class with five lessons. There will be four assignments and one final exam. The topics covered will include: the Eddas, the Creation Story, Odin, Frigg, Thor and Loki. I am trying to make both the lessons and assignments interesting and fun, still kind of working on that. I will also add a class forum shortly, within this week is my time plan.
Hoping to see you in my class this fall term!
